The world of Star Chaser Story MUSH, Rithera, is divided between the western continent, the eastern continent, and the smaller southern continent, as well as the various isles and archipelagos that dot the ocean called the Azure Expanse. You may find an artist's rendering of the world map linked to on scsmush.com.
WESTERN CONTINENT
Castia: A small but powerful northern nation, historically ferocious and xenophobic, led by the jovial but fearsome King Albert Lacastrian. In contrast to his country's reputation as uncultured marauders, he is staunchly meritocratic, his Four Deva Generals hearkening from diverse backgrounds and a rare Loremaster gracing his court. Their strength and wisdom support their monarch's dangerous ambitions.
Granse: A disunified territory on the west loosely under the banner of the Zerhem Kingdom, politically and militarily the weakest on the continent. Many societies have risen and fallen by the banks of great Lake Gerisia, and Granse is popular among adventurers for the many quests in need of doing and artifacts awaiting discovery.
Oradia: A central country of semi-tropical forest famous for its high culture, a hotbed of art and poetry and delectable cuisine. Queen Rani Veronica is notable for her tolerance of diverse religious sects so long as they acknowledge her as the incarnation of the Goddess of Purification.
Verdios: A hardy woodland nation in the east divided from the rest of the western continent by the Twilight Canyon. Its vast wilderness welcomes hunters and trappers and its Knights of Suryle are formidable, though their queen excels in diplomacy and deploys them only as a last resort.
Hagos: The most scientifically advanced nation on the western continent and the world's sole republic, its savannahs are populated with powerful monsters kept in check by golems and a unique form of magitech. Its crown jewel is its capitol Fosanis, site of the Niles Academy for magic-users, the city surrounded by a ringlike canyon into which gorgeous waterfalls pour on all sides, a wondrous natural moat that makes it accessible only by gliders.
EASTERN CONTINENT
Eurena: A subcontinent divided between two great powers, the theocratic Holy City Revonus in the west and the once-nomadic, now industrialized Korotus Empire in the east. Revonus is ruled by its Pope who speaks for their god Aijanu and is a strict class-based hierarchy, their Templars frequently clashing with Ashald in a religious crusade. The Korotus Empire is composed of autonomous tribes that constantly war with one another, the victors of these squabbles accepted into the ranks of the true Imperial Army and granted its more advanced technology. The new Emperor, Algien, ignores Revonus, allowing it to focus on fighting Ashald, while building up the Korotean military for a new war with Castia.
Lomphan Kingdom: A small jungle country to the east of Eurena that struggles to maintain its independence despite Korotean incursion. Their monks, specialized in unarmed combat, are of late in disarray after Korotus raided to raze a village of beastkin being sheltered there.
Ashald: A prolific trading nation led by the Rose Council, an alliance of merchant princes and princesses, and a puppet sultan anointed by their own monotheistic faith dedicated to the goddess Khemia Waha, said to be the true form of the one Revonus calls Aijanu and to have become the great river that sustains their desert country. Famed for their colosseums and notorious for their black markets.
Cosmopolis: The "spiring city" of legend, situated atop a massive plateau and hemmed in by cliffsides and the Gate of Creation, which until recently had caused the jungles to grow unstoppably and force its citizens ever eastward. For over a century the city built atop itself and its own ruins, the Gate both driving innovation through endless energy and pushing its people to the brink. Ruled by the supposedly immortal Sorceress Potentate, its politics are byzantine and its structure labyrinthine, hierarchical both socially and physically. But with the Gate of Creation now sealed, it is at last open again to visitors.
SOUTHERN CONTINENT & AZURE EXPANSE
Ihiyo: The Land of Spirits where the Beast of Fire dwells in the Anima Volcano, placated by the rule of the Shaman Prince. Long ago, Ihiyons fleeing the Beast's fearful power traveled to the western continent and founded Hagos, but little is known of the people who dwell there now save that they somehow live among eidolas in relative peace.
Isla Sacro: A tropical paradise and rowdy den of pirates who exist in an uneasy truce in the vicinity so as to profit from vacationers. Deep within the mountains, a little known sanctuary for beastkin exists.
Zelrik Archipelago: The pirates here do *not* have a truce.
Isle of Ever'ast: Here there be monsters -- and treasure, or so the pirates say.
Goetia's Port: Also known as the Ghastly Enigma, a place guarded by tempests and fog that is rumored to choose whom it admits, and the location of the Great Chronicles Library where one studies to become a Loremaster and learn the truths of this world. It is whispered that sometimes visitors from other realities travel here through Goetia's Port, events that the Loremasters call "crossovers."
